Comments on a New Tenant’s and Resident’s Organisation ...
from Whitmore and Bryant Court tenants and residents

"It is essential for the tenants of Whitmore Estate to have a Tenants Association. This is because as our estate has been transferred to a private landlord, we need a body to speak for the tenants"
Mr A. Owegbey - Scorton House - Whitmore

"I think it’s important to have a unified and representative tenant’s voice. That’s the main thing. Being part of Haggerston T.A. will give us access to their facilities and help people fell more involved in their estates, not just passive. Haggerston TA is a well established T.A. and we may as well combine our efforts and energy. As tenants of Canalside our interests are similar whether we live on Haggerston or Whitmore."
Sue Goldman - Stringer House - Whitmore

"Itis particularly important for residents of 37 - 78 Bryant Court to join with Whitmore and Haggerston to form a Tenants’ association because we live in a block that’s isolated and if we don’t make an effort to get involved in what’s going on, we will only get more isolated. We need friends!"
Kate Brown - Bryant Court - Kingsland

"Because I want the best for all the residents and tenants on Whitmore Estate I think it’s a good idea to join forces with Haggerston tenants and residents. Before the vote last year, Canalside made a lot of promises to make our homes better. I want to help make sure that these promises are kept. A combined TRA can help make sure of this. A TRA can give advice and support to all Tenants and Residents on Whitmore. It’s nice to know it’s there for us when we need support, need advice or need to make a complaint. As residents we need to help set up this joint TRA ... I hope to see you on the 5th of July."
Gaye Oztok - Rover House - Whitmore

"We’re a small block but as important as Whitmore and Haggerston. It’s been proven to us in the past that we can be easily overlooked because of our size. Therefore, a joint T.A. of this nature can only be beneficial to all of the estates involved."
Collette Rose - Bryant Court - Kingsland

"I have lived on the Whitmore Estate for 25 years and have been involved with T.A.s and feel that now we have been taken over by Canalside, it is essential that we have a united body to speak for us."
Bob Jones - Crossbow House - Whitmore
