Haggerston Community Centre Home

You can now get access to the Internet including e-mail along with a host of other computer facilities at Haggerston Computer club. Sessions are run on an informal drop-in basis, where users of all ages benefit from the use of I.T equipment and software. Qualified instructors provide support for users preparing c.v.'s, reports, leaflets, and research e.t.c.

Course provided in the past include NVQ level 2 in I.T and RSA CLAIT. Other courses will became available subject to demand and funding available. Participants not only gain a widely recognised qualification but are also encouraged to participate in the Volunteer programme at the Centre where they can gain valuable work experience leading to employment. The availability of childcare support remains an attractive feature of the course.

Funding for the project has been acquired mainly from the National Lottery Charities Board, and more recently ESF /European and Canalside Housing Partnership. As such the project has undergone a degree of expansion, of employing an additional Web designer to provide Web design and Internet services for local organisations and businesses.
