The Haggerston Tenants Association (HTA)was formed in the early 1980's
as an organisation of and for council tenants and leaseholders on Haggerston
Estate. After discussions with the neighbouring Estates of Whitmore and
Bryant Court it was decided to rename the HTA to Haggerston, Kingsland
and Whitmore Tenants and Residents Association (HAWK-TRA) for short.

The list of activities currently carried out by HAWK-TRA currently includes
tenant support work, support for both youth and senior citizen activities
and advice on legal and housing problems. The Association is also
a structure through which other local agencies across the borough can
consult local residents.
